The first round game against Cadder took place on Tuesday 9 January. Despite winning six out of the eight ends played, Bearsden came second in the 10 – 8 game. Sounds like a good effort by our team. Thanks to Simon, Peter, John and Alan for representing us.
This competition is played on a knock-out basis by one rink per club. This year the participating clubs are Nondes, Bearsden, Cawder House, Cadder, Greenacres and Helensburgh with the first games being played on Tuesday 9 January. Simon, Peter, Alan and John are representing Bearsden and we wish them good curling in their game tonight.
Geraldine’s 2024 curling season got off to a good start when she was playing with Glasgow Ladies in their Bonspiel on Thursday 4 January at Greenacres. On Wednesday 13 December, Bearsden took to the ice in the Allan Cup Semi-final and managed to loose a 5 in the first end ! Ross, Simon, Alan and Alison, not to be disheartened, went on to win two ends with the final score being a 11-2 win for Kelvinside Accies. The other semi final…
Congratulations to John Dunlop who was one of the Bearsden Curlers who participated in the Invitational Partick Points Competition held on Thursday 7 December at Greenacres. John came third in this competition and won a bottle of wine for his Christmas celebrations. Well done John.
Bearsden played against Dumbarton in a close game on Wednesday 29 November in the round robin. The game concluded with a 7-6 win to Bearsden. Now through to the semi-finals on Wednesday 13 December brings us up against the skill of Kelvinside. Ross, Simon, Alan and Alison – we will give it our best!
The annual friendly game between Partick CC and Bearsden CC took place yesterday afternoon. The Partick Rink was skipped by David Scott and our Bearsden Rink was skipped by Geraldine. An enjoyable and friendly game was played out with Skip Geraldine ably taking the Bearsden Rink to successfully winning the game.
