This week saw both Simon and Ross compete in their respective rinks in the Qualifying Rounds for the Scottish National Masters. This was held at Greenacres over 7 – 9 November. This competition is played on a knock-out basis by one rink per club. This year the participating clubs are Nondes, Bearsden, Cawder House, Cadder, Greenacres and Helensburgh with the first games being played on Tuesday 9 January. Simon, Peter, Alan and John are representing Bearsden and we wish them good curling in their game tonight.

Sunday 17 March saw 24 curlers from the above clubs venture onto the ice at Greenacres to challenge their skills in specific shots. The competition took the format of each curler having two attempts at nine specific shot disciplines, ranging from guards and draws to tap-backs, double take-outs and drawing through the port! On Tuesday night we had a very close first five ends in our game against Bearsden Ski Club. However, inthe last two ends we managed to come to the fore finishing with a 10 – 5 win. Well done Ross, Simon, Alan and Alison.  Keep going strong!!
