Speirs Trophy

The first round game against Cadder took place on Tuesday 9 January.  Despite winning six out of the eight ends played, Bearsden came second in the 10 – 8 game.  Sounds like a good effort by our team. Thanks to Simon, Peter, John and Alan for representing us.

This competition is played on a knock-out basis by one rink per club. This year the participating clubs are Nondes, Bearsden, Cawder House, Cadder, Greenacres and Helensburgh with the first games being played on Tuesday 9 January. Simon, Peter, Alan and John are representing Bearsden and we wish them good curling in their game tonight.

Bearsden members, Campbell Denholm and Valerie Browning had a very successful Bonspiel at the North West Castle Hotel in Stranraer during the first week in October. Congratulations to John Dunlop who was one of the Bearsden Curlers who participated in the Invitational Partick Points Competition held on Thursday 7 December at Greenacres. John came third in this competition and won a bottle of wine for his Christmas celebrations. Well done John.

This week saw both Simon and Ross compete in their respective rinks in the Qualifying Rounds for the Scottish National Masters. This was held at Greenacres over 7 – 9 November.
