Getting near the endof season

Bearsden CC participated in the first Dunbartonshire Province competition of the season, the Cuthbert Cup, on Saturday 14th October. The competition is played between eight clubs with two teams from each club; one team playing at 12:30 and one at 16:00. This competition is played on a knock-out basis by one rink per club. This year the participating clubs are Nondes, Bearsden, Cawder House, Cadder, Greenacres and Helensburgh with the first games being played on Tuesday 9 January. Simon, Peter, Alan and John are representing Bearsden and we wish them good curling in their game tonight.
Two of our annual competitions finals are being played in March between the following rinks. Firth Medal – 22 March – Rink A (Joan MacVoy) v Rink C (Geraldine Murphy) Rink Medal – 25 March – Rink D (Gerry McCormak) v Rink A (Joan MacVoy)
Bearsden members are out and about at the start of the curling season. John Dunlop in the Irish Curling Association’s first game of the new season at Greenacres Ice Rink. John was in the winning rink with team mates Maria O’Neill, Charlotte Tierney and skip Neil Fyfe.
Arrangements are in place to organise Rinks for the forthcoming season. Rink Team Sheets are being prepared and members will be asked to confirm availability for the dates allocated to us. Saturday 11 March saw two rinks from Bearsden Curling Club travel to Perth Curling Rink to participate in the Annual 1911 Centenary Club Bonspiel. This Bonspiel is held between four clubs who were all founded in 1911 and celebrated their 100th Anniversary in 2011, when it was agreed to hold the Annual Bonspiel. The clubs…
