The first round game against Cadder took place on Tuesday 9 January. Despite winning six out of the eight ends played, Bearsden came second in the 10 – 8 game. Sounds like a good effort by our team. Thanks to Simon, Peter, John and Alan for representing us.
On Sturday the 15th of February the BCC Gents emerged victorious ov the Ladies. Simon Blyth graciously accepted the winners accolade. The trophy has to be found before a formal presentation can be made! The word is Ross has it.
Saturday 11 March saw two rinks from Bearsden Curling Club travel to Perth Curling Rink to participate in the Annual 1911 Centenary Club Bonspiel. This Bonspiel is held between four clubs who were all founded in 1911 and celebrated their 100th Anniversary in 2011, when it was agreed to hold the Annual Bonspiel. The clubs…
This competition is played on a knock-out basis by one rink per club. This year the participating clubs are Nondes, Bearsden, Cawder House, Cadder, Greenacres and Helensburgh with the first games being played on Tuesday 9 January. Simon, Peter, Alan and John are representing Bearsden and we wish them good curling in their game tonight.
The annual friendly game between Partick CC and Bearsden CC took place yesterday afternoon. The Partick Rink was skipped by David Scott and our Bearsden Rink was skipped by Geraldine. An enjoyable and friendly game was played out with Skip Geraldine ably taking the Bearsden Rink to successfully winning the game.
Bearsden CC participated in the first Dunbartonshire Province competition of the season, the Cuthbert Cup, on Saturday 14th October. The competition is played between eight clubs with two teams from each club; one team playing at 12:30 and one at 16:00.
