Bearsden Curling Club Success

Saturday 11 March saw two rinks from Bearsden Curling Club travel to Perth Curling Rink to participate in the Annual 1911 Centenary Club Bonspiel. This Bonspiel is held between four clubs who were all founded in 1911 and celebrated their 100th Anniversary in 2011, when it was agreed to hold the Annual Bonspiel. The clubs are Craigie Hill Curling Club, Monifieth Curling Club, Wengen Curling Club and Bearsden Curling Club. Unfortunately on this occasion Monifieth Curling Club were unable to participate.

With a total of 4 points Bearsden Curling Club were the clear winners and will have the honour of arranging next year’s matches.

The photo was taken after the presentation of the Friendship Quaich by Ian McDonald, Past President of Wengen Curling Club. Bearsden were represented by Peter D, Eilidh, Allan, John, Ross, Simon, Drew and Campbell.

A Wengen member commented that “The games were played in the true spirit of curling”.

Congratulations to all Bearsden players. Well done.
